The topic that I have in mind is to write about anti-vaccines movement. The article that I picked is "Understanding those who do not understand: a brief review of the
anti-vaccine movement" by Gregory A. Poland and Robert M. Jacobson.

  1. Hi Lyubov - It's an interesting topic, but you don't want your central text to be an article - you want it to be a work of art or a creative political action. If you're interested in health related issues, the women's health movement of the 80s and the anti-AIDS movement coming out of the 80s would be great to look at. Some individual actions/texts you could look at would be the collective publication of Our Bodies, Ourselves, the AIDS quilt, or some of the actions done by the group ACT UP. Look around and let me know if any of these are of interest to you.

  4. Hi Lyubov -

Here is a link that tells a little about the history of one of their most famous actions: http://www.actupny.org/YELL/stopchurch99.html.

An interesting artistic project on this issue although not through act Up would be the AIDS quilt: http://www.aidsquilt.org/

Let me know what you think.
